Seeding methodBefore sowing, cut the hard seed coat of the seeds with a sharp tool, preferably in April or May. After that, soak the seeds in warm water at 25℃ for 24 hours, then sow them in plain sandy soil, and then cover them with soil. It is best not to make it too thick, 1-2 times the diameter of the seeds is best. After sowing, keep the soil moist and control the surrounding temperature between 10℃-15℃. It will germinate within 2-3 weeks. Transplant once when 2-3 leaves grow. It will bloom in the same year or the next year. Rhizome methodTuber propagation is best carried out in March and April each year, and it is best to choose dwarf varieties for propagation. The potting soil should be mixed with soil rich in organic matter such as leaf mold, garden soil, peat soil, mountain mud, etc. Generally, leaf mold, garden soil, and rice husk ash are used as the raw materials, in a ratio of 1:1.5:0.5, and it is better to add a small amount of bean cake, bone meal and other fertilizers. Dig out the old rhizomes, remove the rotten parts, and divide them into blocks. Keep 2-3 buds on each rhizome with roots, and plant them in the soil at a depth of about 10 cm. It is best if the tip of the bud can be exposed from the potting soil. After planting, water it sufficiently and wait until the new buds grow 5-6 leaves, then apply decomposed fertilizer once, and it will bloom in the same year. Division methodDivision is generally carried out on rainy days or in the evening from June to July, targeting plants with a spacing of more than 4-5 cm between plants or clusters and without inflorescences. First, use a sharp tool to cut vertically downwards between the plants and divide them quickly. Be careful to bring more old soil with you and do not damage the branches and leaves. Then plant it directly in the prepared container. Be sure to water it thoroughly after planting. If the environment is relatively dry, provide appropriate sunshade, spray water around it, and increase the humidity of the environment. In about 10 days, the new plants will develop into complete plants. |
