How to care for jade bell

Spring maintenance

Ensure adequate sunlight. The Jade Bell Plant is drought-resistant but not water-resistant, so keep the soil in the pot slightly moist and there is no water accumulation in the pot. After the flowering period in spring, you can change the pot and do a pruning at the same time, cut off the dense branches and trim the plant shape. This season is a good time for cutting propagation, either branch cuttings or leaf cuttings.

Summer maintenance

The Jade Bell Plant likes diffuse light and needs a little shade in the summer, but it should not be too shaded, otherwise the branches and leaves will grow too long and the color will become dull, affecting its appreciation. When the weather is hot and rainy, the water content should be controlled and long-term rain should be avoided to prevent water accumulation in the pot and cause root rot.

Autumn maintenance

The Jade Bell grows vigorously in autumn and the climate is more suitable, so full light exposure can be restored and fertilization should be stopped after October. As the temperature continues to drop, the amount of watering should be controlled to prevent the soil in the pot from being too wet. Cutting propagation can be carried out in this season.

Winter maintenance

Jade bell likes warmth and can bloom normally when the temperature is 10-12 degrees in winter. The temperature in winter cannot be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise you will get frostbite. Jade bell is a short-day plant. If the light exposure exceeds 12 hours in winter, flowering will be delayed until early spring. Fertilization should be stopped in winter, watering should be controlled, and it is best to move the plants to a greenhouse for the winter.
