How to grow golden sedge in winter

Fill Light

One important reason why it is called golden spathiphyllum is that it shines golden in the sun. Even in winter, the growth of golden sedge is slow, but it still needs sunlight.

Golden sphenanthera likes an environment with plenty of sunlight, and its leaves will turn golden yellow only if exposed to more sunlight. There is less sunlight in winter, so we should make full use of the daytime light. If the light is insufficient, we can use fluorescent lamps to supplement the light.

Golden Spartina can survive in a semi-shady environment, but its plant shape is loose, which affects its ornamental value. Moreover, insufficient light will cause the golden sphenanthera plant to grow too tall, lengthen the distance between leaves, and make it look sparse and ugly. In addition, the plant grows weakly and can easily cause diseases such as black rot, causing the entire pot of plants to rot and be wiped out.

Warming up

You don’t need to worry too much about the temperature. Most golden sphenanthemas are kept indoors on balconies. The temperature at home is between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius, which is enough for its growth.

In short, the temperature must be controlled above 5℃, otherwise the meat will easily be frostbitten.

Water Control

The indoor temperature in winter is between 5 and 20 degrees Celsius. At this time, you should pay attention to water control. The golden sedge grows slowly and absorbs water slowly. You should prevent water accumulation in the pot soil, which will cause root rot of the plant. In addition, pay attention to the time of watering, and choose the warmer noon time.

Place the golden sedge in a well-lit area and keep the soil from freezing.
