What to do if heather drops leaves

What to do if heather drops leaves

1. Unsuitable soil

Heather generally prefers fertile acidic soil, and the soil must be loose and breathable. If the right soil is not chosen when cultivating it, it is very likely that it will lose leaves more easily due to insufficient nutrition or poor root breathing. If this is the case, then the soil needs to be replaced.

2. Inappropriate light and temperature

Heather prefers a cooler and more humid place with plenty of sunlight. It is not very afraid of the cold, but it is very afraid of the high temperature in summer. It is generally more suitable for growing in temperatures between 15 and 35 degrees. Although it is relatively cold-resistant, the temperature cannot be too low in winter. In addition, the temperature cannot exceed 35 degrees in summer. If the temperature is too high or too low in winter, it will not be able to adapt and will drop its leaves. Therefore, we must ensure that the temperature is suitable and provide shade in the summer. In addition, light is also very important. Never keep it in a dark place for a long time, otherwise it will not get enough light and will cause the leaves to fall off. We try to put it in a sunny place.

3. Improper watering and fertilization

Its fertilizer requirements are generally not very high, and it is usually necessary to apply fertilizer and water at the same time. If the fertilizer is too concentrated or too much, it will directly damage the roots, making it impossible to transmit nutrients and causing the leaves to fall off. In addition, improper watering will also have an impact. When watering, you should process it in advance, and it is better to water it in the morning. Although it does not require much fertilizer, it is also necessary to ensure that it has sufficient nutrition. You cannot simply not provide fertilizer. Only in this way can it grow better and bloom more.
