Milan cutting method

Milan cutting method

Milan cuttings: choosing a medium

Before cutting, the cutting bed must be prepared. According to the number of branches to be cut, use containers of different diameters. When there are fewer cuttings, you can choose flower pots. When there are more branches, you can use wooden boxes and other larger containers. The bottom of the basin is filled with rubble to enhance water permeability.

Milan cuttings: choosing branches

There are generally two methods for Milan's cuttings, one is the young branches of the current year, and the other is the old stems of the previous year. Both methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. Choosing branches grown in the current year will have a higher survival rate.

Milan cuttings: steps and methods

In fact, the cutting method is very simple, just follow the steps below.

First, insert the branches into the soil you prepared earlier and water them sufficiently.

Then put the flower pot in a plastic bucket, put a brick at the bottom of the bucket, and add a small amount of water.

Then cover the mouth of the barrel with glass, and open the lid every 3 to 5 days to ventilate.

Milan cuttings: maintenance

After cuttings, place the plant in a cool place for maintenance, control the temperature at 25~28℃, spray water on the leaves frequently to increase the humidity of the surrounding environment and promote its growth.

The cutting cycle of Milan is relatively long, and it takes 50 to 60 days to be successful. If the branches do not wilt and the leaves do not turn yellow during this period, it means that the base of the branches has healed sufficiently. After a period of time, new buds will grow between the leaf stems, which means that roots have taken root.
