How to grow bottle orchid

Sowing and seed selection

Seeds should be selected before sowing. The selection of seeds directly affects whether a strong bottle orchid will grow in the future.

First of all, when selecting seeds, you should choose new seeds harvested that year. The shorter the storage time of the seeds, the better, which is beneficial to the germination rate of the bottle orchid.

Secondly, pay attention when choosing seeds, and choose seeds that are large, full, and not damaged for planting.

Finally, check the seeds for diseases and pests, and choose healthy new seeds.

Sowing and disinfection

When sowing, not only the seeds of the bottle orchid should be disinfected, but also the substrate for sowing the seeds should be disinfected.

Soak the seeds in warm water for about 15 minutes, and then use hot water to germinate them for half a day to a day.

Then disinfect the sowing substrate and fry it in a pot. Of course, the best way is to use a fungicide to spray it directly for disinfection.

Sowing method

First, use a tool or a toothpick dipped in water to pick up the seeds and place them on the surface of the cultivation substrate, covering them with a 1 cm thick layer of substrate. Then put the flower pot in the water, the water should cover half of the flower pot, and slowly soak the water in;

Larger seeds can be placed directly into the substrate and then covered with a layer 2-3 times thicker than the seed. After sowing, spray to wet the substrate, and then water when the soil in the pot is dry. Pay attention to choosing the method of sprinkling water, and do not water too much, which will wash away the seeds.
