How to grow avocado pits in pots

1. Seed processing

Choose a fresh, ripe, and better avocado, cut it open, be careful not to damage the pit, remove the pit and wash it clean. Place the slightly larger end of the core downwards, insert 3-5 toothpicks, and place it at the mouth of a cup filled with water so that one-third of the core is soaked in water. Remember to change the water every day in the later stage, so that it will sprout after some time.

2. Prepare the soil

Prepare a flowerpot of suitable size, place an appropriate amount of gravel at the bottom, and use fertile and loose soil. You can mix river sand and leaf mold or perlite and nutrient soil and moisten it.

3. Planting in pots

When the seeds germinate and the sprouts grow to 5 to 7 cm, they can be transplanted into the potting soil. When planting, do not bury all the seeds. About one-third of the upper part should be exposed. Keep the soil slightly moist but not too wet.

4. Post-maintenance

After planting, place it in an environment with diffuse light, keep the temperature between 16 and 27 degrees, water it frequently, and be careful not to make it too humid, let alone stagnant water.
