Lotus root planting time and monthLotus roots like to grow in hot and rainy seasons. They are generally planted in March and April in the south and in early May in the north. The lotus fields should choose deep, slightly acidic or nearly neutral clay soil rich in organic matter. The sowing method should be to dig, select and plant as soon as possible. It can also be planted after germination. Planting begins when the temperature in spring is above 15 degrees and the ground temperature at a depth of 10 cm reaches above 12 degrees. Planting usually takes place in February and March in the south, while in May in the north where the temperature is lower. In summer, because the light is relatively strong, the growth process of lotus root is still very rapid. However, everyone must be careful during this process, because if the light is too sufficient in summer, it may cause water to evaporate quickly, and water needs to be added in time. Lotus root planting methodThe planting time of lotus roots is different in different planting sites. They are generally planted in March and April each year. The suitable temperature for their growth is between 20-30 degrees. The temperature difference between the south and the north of my country is a bit large, so most of the planting in the south is in February and March, while the planting in the north will start a little later in April and May. 1. Select lotus root seedlings When planting lotus roots, you should choose pure lotus root seeds with obvious characteristics for germination. In addition, it is best to choose a lotus root node with some roots where the sprouts grow, so that the survival rate of the seedlings is higher. 2. Dig a hole and bury the buds Dig a hole in the humus-rich soil. The size and depth of the hole depend on the size of the lotus bud. It should not be too deep or too shallow. The tail of the lotus root should be left outside the soil, and one end of the lotus bud should be buried diagonally downwards to protect the lotus bud. 3. Watering lotus root buds The newly planted lotus root buds do not need to be watered. Wait until the soil is slightly dry before watering. When the lotus root buds and the mud grow together, you can apply a small amount of chemical fertilizer or natural fertilizer. When the lotus root seedlings grow to a certain height, you can add water. The water level should be higher than the mud level, but it should not submerge the tail of the lotus root, otherwise the lotus root will rot. 4. Keep the light on Lotus roots prefer a warm and sunny environment. In the north, it is suitable to be planted in early May. In the areas south of the Yangtze River, where the climate is warm, they can be planted from March to early April. The planted lotus root buds should be placed in the sun to allow them to germinate and grow naturally. |
