How to cultivate peach blossom

How to cultivate peach blossom

Peach blossom cultivation method

Peach seedlings can be topped when they are about 25-30cm tall, and by late summer or early autumn they will have reached the desired thickness.

Transplanting of seedlings should be carried out in spring and autumn. Small seedlings can be dipped in mud and partially covered with soil before transplanting with their roots, while large seedlings need to be transplanted with the soil ball. In order to cultivate large seedlings into beautiful structures, they need to be shaped and pruned. Potted trees can be shaped into a natural cup shape or a natural open heart shape.

How to repair the crown of peach blossom cultivation

Cultivation of a Natural Cup-Shaped Crown

1. After grafting, a 1-meter-high main trunk will be left, the strong buds at the cut will be retained, and the top will be removed.

2. Continue to grow branches at a height below 1m from the plant, and cultivate the new branches for comparison to select the main branches in the future.

3. Take the new branch about 40cm above the ground as the first main branch; 30cm above the main branch, select the new branch as the second main branch.

4. The new branch at 1 meter serves as the third main branch. The three main branches should not be arranged in a whorl, but should be evenly spaced around the plant.

5. When pruning in summer, remove diseased branches, broken branches, weak branches, etc. on the main branches.

6. In the winter of the following year, all main branches should be cut short, leaving strong and vigorous buds to cultivate extension branches of the main branches. And select suitable side branches.

Cultivation of a Natural Open-heart Crown

1. After grafting and transplanting, the trunk should be set at 40-60cm.

2. In the shaping zone above the fixed trunk height, select 3 evenly distributed main branches and let them grow in a ring shape.

3. Remove other branches. During the winter pruning of the following year, other branches and buds are removed to gradually form a natural open crown.

How to fertilize peach blossom cultivation

1. The ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium required by peach is about 1:0.5:1.

2. Make flowers thrive by using nitrogen fertilizer.

3. Increase the application of potassium fertilizer to peach blossoms, which will make the flowers bloom more luxuriantly and larger.

4. The base fertilizer is applied in October and November when the soil is deep plowed, and organic fertilizer accounts for half of the total fertilizer ratio;

5. In addition, the soil of potted peach trees should be kept loose and water-free to prevent root rot.

Peach blossoms are mostly shaped into a natural happy shape. The branches are gorgeous and luxuriant , and the method of pinching is used to maintain the balance of the branches. And remove dense branches, improve lighting conditions, and promptly remove old, weak and diseased plants.
