The method of cutting off the top to propagate the plant

The method of cutting off the top to propagate the plant

Prepare the Soil

No matter which method is used, whether it is planting or maintenance, soil is extremely important. As the saying goes, "If you want to do your work well, you must first sharpen your tools."

We can use a mixture of peat, perlite, vermiculite and pine needles for cultivation and propagation.

Topping

This step is what you are going to do from the name.

We selected the beautiful-looking, complete and graceful plant shapes of the Ji Qiuli, and carefully cut off the top part with scissors. Be sure to leave some branches to allow them to take root smoothly.

After the "beheading", Ji Qiuli's wound needed to be simply treated and placed in a cool place to dry for a day or two.

Transplanting

When propagating the plant by cutting the top to induce the growth of tillers, it is necessary to pay attention to wet soil and dry seeds. That is: top planting is carried out after the soil is thoroughly watered. No more watering required.

Post-maintenance

Follow the principle of wet soil and dry seeds, and do not water too much in the early stages of transplanting. If you see the leaves wilt and appear slightly shriveled, you can spray a small amount of water on the roots or leaves.

In addition, do not expose it to direct sunlight before it resumes normal growth. Moderate light will be sufficient.

After about a month, we can see the cut-topped Ji Qiuli starting to take root and sprout. At this point, maintenance can return to normal.
