What is the best fertilizer for soybeans?

Soybean is a crop with extremely high nutritional value. It is not only rich in protein, but also contains a variety of vitamins, trace elements and minerals, especially iron. Therefore, soybeans are known as "green dairy cows" and "plant meat", and their status among beans is comparable to that of the "king of beans". The oil yield of soybeans can reach 20%, and it is also one of the important oil crops in China.

In daily life, we often see various soy products , such as soy milk, tofu, dried tofu, etc. The soybean cake after soybean oil extraction is also an important source of high-quality protein feed for livestock and poultry. Due to the huge demand for soybeans in my country and the wide cultivation area, a large amount of soybeans needs to be imported from abroad every year. As China increases subsidies for soybean cultivation , the area planted with soybeans has increased significantly. Reasonable fertilizer distribution is the key to achieving high soybean yield. So what is the best fertilizer for soybeans?

The fertilizer requirement of soybean is closely related to its growth cycle. Producing 100 kg of soybean grain requires approximately 7.0 to 9.5 kg of nitrogen, 1.3 to 1.9 kg of phosphorus, and 2.5 to 4.0 kg of potassium. Soybeans can provide part of their nitrogen through the nitrogen fixation of rhizobia, while phosphorus and potassium mainly depend on soil supply. In addition, soybeans have special requirements for trace elements such as boron and molybdenum, which are essential for the nitrogen fixation ability of rhizobia and healthy plant growth.

Soybeans absorb different amounts of fertilizer at different growth stages. From seedling to flowering stage, soybean nitrogen absorption accounts for about 20% of the total; the absorption from flowering stage to grain filling stage is the largest, accounting for 55%; and from grain filling stage to maturity stage, it accounts for 25%. Phosphorus absorption reaches its peak during the flowering to pod-setting period, accounting for 60% of the total. Potassium absorption is relatively high from seedling emergence to flowering stage, accounting for 32.2%, from flowering stage to grain filling stage accounting for 61.9%, and from grain filling stage to maturity stage accounting for only 5.9%.

The fertilization strategy for soybeans should be formulated according to their fertilizer requirements:

Basal fertilizer: Basal fertilizer is the main source of nutrients for soybeans, mainly organic fertilizer , with appropriate amounts of urea, superphosphate and potassium fertilizer. Fertilization can be done by furrow strip application or hole application.

Seed fertilizer: Seed mixing can promote root growth, increase the number of rhizobia, and improve nitrogen fixation ability. Seed dressing methods include seed dressing with rhizobia, seed dressing with phosphate fertilizer and seed dressing with molybdenum fertilizer.

Top dressing: There are two situations for top dressing. One is that for fields that have not been applied with basal fertilizer, urea, superphosphate and potassium fertilizer need to be applied in time. The other is that for fields that have been applied with basal fertilizer, nitrogen fertilizer should be applied in appropriate amounts according to the growth of the plants, and top dressing should be applied again during the flowering and podding period.

Foliar Fertilizer : Foliar fertilization is an effective way to supplement nutrients. Spraying ammonium molybdate and borax solution from the seedling stage to before flowering of soybean growth can increase the fruit setting rate of soybean.

Through scientific fertilization methods, the yield and quality of soybeans can be improved. If you grow soybeans, you can refer to and learn from it according to actual conditions.
