How to survive the winter in hydroponics of mirror grass

Mirror grass hydroponic wintering method:

First of all, we need to have a simple understanding of it: it has a strong ability to resist cold, and the most suitable temperature is 16 to 20 degrees. If the temperature drops to -4 degrees, the plant will be frozen and its leaves will become dull.

1. Change the water

The interval for changing water can be extended during winter breeding. Generally, water is changed every 10 to 15 days in spring and autumn, and it can be extended to about 20 days in winter.

When changing the water, it is best to put the water in the sun for half a day. If there is no sunlight, leave it for one to two days. But if you choose purified water, you can use it directly. However, the temperature is lower in winter, so no matter what kind of water is used, the temperature of the water must be equal to or similar to the original water temperature in the container before changing the water, which is beneficial to the health of the plants.

When changing the water, you should observe the roots. If there are other foreign objects covering them, rinse the roots with clean water and put them back into the container. If necrotic roots are found, trim them off when changing the water.

When hydroponically cultivating in winter, the amount of water should not be too much. The height of the water should be enough to completely immerse the entire root.

2. Nutrition

If the temperature drops to 10 degrees in winter, the concentration of the nutrient solution should be reduced to 1/2 or 1/3 of the usual level, or even stopped.

Special reminder:

Temperature control in winter plays a very important role in the growth and health of plants, so be sure to maintain it!
