How to grow a small potted fortune tree

How to grow a small potted fortune tree

1. Choose a pot

When caring for the plant, you can use either a plastic pot or a ceramic pot, and the size should be determined according to the plant. If it is a small plant, a flowerpot with a diameter of 16-24 cm will be enough. If it is too big, it will be unsightly.

2. Soil

It likes well-drained, loose and fertile sandy loam, which you can prepare yourself when planting. Just mix four parts of garden soil and leaf mold with two parts of sand to meet its growth needs.

3. Watering

It is not cold-resistant, but if it is a small plant, it likes a humid environment. Water it thoroughly, but there should be no stagnant water. You can spray water on the leaves more often, which can not only replenish water but also increase humidity, which is very beneficial to growth.

4. Fertilization

It likes fertilizer, so fertilize frequently during the growing period. Be careful not to use too high a fertilizer concentration, otherwise it will burn the roots. When fertilizing, you can apply liquid fertilizer or buy special fertilizer from a flower shop.

5. Lighting

During maintenance, it should be placed in a place with scattered light and fully exposed to the sun, but in summer it should be shielded from strong light to avoid sunburn. Insufficient light will cause the leaves to turn yellow and the branches to become thin, affecting growth and appearance.
