1. What is lychee?

Litchi usually refers to the fruit of the lychee plant of the genus Litchi in the Sapindaceae family. It is a common fruit and is edible. 2. When do lychees mature?

Lychee is a fruit that grows in spring and summer. Its ripening time varies depending on the variety grown. Generally, relatively early-maturing varieties can mature in early spring in February or March. Most varieties mature in April-May. Relatively late-maturing varieties will mature in June and July, and some particularly late-maturing varieties may also mature in August.

3. When are lychees available in the market?

Generally, lychees are available on the market within a few weeks after they are fully ripe. Therefore, some early-maturing varieties can be available on the market around March. However, lychees are available in large quantities in April and May. During this period, most lychees are ripe and have accumulated enough sugar in their flesh, making them taste better. In addition, some late-maturing varieties will be available in June-August.
