What family of plants does Kalanchoe belong to? What is the flowering period of Kalanchoe?

1. What family of plants is it?

Kalanchoe is a plant of the Crassulaceae family. It is an evergreen succulent herb that grows very small but has high ornamental value. The plant has emerald green and shiny leaves, and the flowers are also rich in colors, including white, pink, crimson, yellow, orange, etc. Moreover, it has a variety of varieties and is a very popular potted flower.

2. Flowering period

The flowering period of Kalanchoe starts in December and is relatively long. It will continue to bloom until the spring of next year and usually wither around April. But sometimes, its flowering period can be longer, possibly extending into May or June. It blooms once a year, and the time of flowering is mainly related to the temperature in the maintenance environment. If the temperature can be adjusted well, its flowering period can be appropriately extended.

3. How to promote better flowering

1. Sunlight: Kalanchoe needs photosynthesis to bloom, so it needs enough light during maintenance. It is best to place it in a sunny place and let it see sunlight for at least 8 hours a day.

2. Nutrients: Reasonable fertilization will not only make it bloom more, but also make the plant grow stronger. Before flowering, potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be diluted and watered to provide nutrients for the plant to bloom. If there is insufficient nutrition, the number of flowers and the length of flowering period will be affected.

3. Temperature: The temperature should not be too low or too high. It is generally better to maintain it at 15℃. In such an environment, it will bloom more and more beautiful flowers.
