The eggplant seedling raising time is determined by the planting time and soil temperature. Seedlings for early spring planting are generally raised in January and February, while those for autumn planting are raised in May. In addition, if the temperature is low, the seedling period will be extended, up to 80-100 days.

2. How to raise seedlings

1. Increase the temperature: Too low temperature can easily cause seedlings to become stunted. Generally, after germination, the temperature should be controlled between 20-25℃. By the time the first leaf sprouts, the temperature should rise to 25-27℃.

2. Rehydrate in time: The demand for water in the seedling stage is relatively large. Water the plants sufficiently when sowing, and add water appropriately during the seedling stage. Watering is usually done on sunny days. Don't water too much. Wait until the surface soil is dry before watering.

3. Strengthen lighting: Seedlings have strict requirements on lighting. Insufficient light will cause late differentiation of flower buds and affect their yield, while too strong light will easily sunburn the seedlings. Place it in a sunny place, but provide adequate shade at noon.

4. Apply fertilizer in moderation: If there is sufficient base fertilizer, there is no need to apply fertilizer. If the seedlings grow weak and the color is not dark, you can apply appropriate top dressing. Use foliar fertilizer mixed with clean water for spraying to avoid damaging the plants.
