Velvet Arrowroot cultivation methods and precautions

Velvet Arrowroot cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

It is recommended to use loose, nutritious, well-drained humus soil mixed with leaf mold for the potting soil, but a small amount of rotten bone meal needs to be added.

2. Lighting

It is afraid of direct sunlight and prefers scattered light. If the sunlight is exposed for a long time, the plant will get sick.

3. Temperature

It prefers temperatures between 18℃ and 30℃ and is not cold-resistant. It can only survive the winter safely when the temperature is above 10℃. It will go into a dormant state when the temperature is below 4℃, and will die when the temperature approaches 0℃.

4. Watering

Sufficient water and humidity should be maintained during the growing season. The leaves of the plants can be sprayed frequently to increase the humidity of the air and keep the loam warm. When the temperature is low in winter, the loam can be slightly dry.

5. Fertilization

Fertilizer should not be applied indiscriminately. It must be light and applied frequently, but the amount of fertilizer applied each time should not be too much and the concentration should not be too high.

6. Notes

In spring, summer and autumn, if kept outdoors, it needs to be watered once every 1-4 days; if kept indoors, it can be watered once every 2-6 days; in winter, it is its dormant period and it can be watered once every 7-10 days. It does not need to be watered on cloudy and rainy days. Daily watering can be arranged as much as possible at noon when the temperature is higher.
