How to grow pepper

How to grow pepper

1. Soil

Pepper is afraid of waterlogging and is suitable for growing in fertile, well-drained sandy soil. Nutrient soil can be made by mixing leaf mold, garden soil and river sand.

2. Lighting

It grows best in shaded environments and requires adequate light. It is recommended to cultivate it in a place with good ventilation and light transmittance indoors. It can be grown outdoors in the shade of the woods, which is more conducive to its growth.

3. Watering

It likes a slightly moist but non-waterlogged environment. In summer, spring and autumn, water the plants every 4-6 days, and in winter, water the plants every 7-8 days. If it is raised outdoors, when there is heavy rain, it is necessary to drain the water in time to prevent it from getting sick.

4. Temperature

It prefers to grow in warm environments, but it is both cold and heat tolerant. The temperature should be kept at 15-23℃ in summer, spring and autumn, and should not be lower than 10℃ in winter to prevent frost damage.

5. Fertilization

It likes fertilizer. In the early stages of growth, you can apply water-fertilizer containing more nitrogen, combined with organic fertilizer and a small amount of chemical fertilizer. Fertilize according to the principle of applying frequently and lightly, and applying more fertilizer during the peak growing season. During the normal growth period, apply water fertilizer made from human and animal feces and green leaves once every 20-30 days. During the fruiting period, fertilizer should be applied 4-5 times in each fruiting cycle. Urea, cake fertilizer, water fertilizer, and potassium chloride can be applied.
