Cultivation method of Niu Er Maple

Cultivation method of Niu Er Maple

1. Soil:

The cow-ear maple has strong adaptability and is not very demanding on soil, so it can grow in general soil. However, it is best to grow it in soil with good permeability, fertility and good drainage.

2. Fertilization:

Before planting Acer truncatum, apply 1 to 2 kg of organic fertilizer in each hole as base fertilizer, and add a small amount of topsoil before planting to prevent the base fertilizer from burning the seedling roots after planting.

3. Watering:

The maple tree needs a lot of water during the sowing period. It needs to be watered once in the morning and once in the evening to keep the soil moist. After the seedling stage, the frequency of watering can be reduced.

4. Temperature:

The cow-ear maple is not cold-resistant and is extremely susceptible to frost damage. It is suitable for survival in a warm environment and the optimal growth temperature range is 17-22℃.

5. Pest and disease control:

1. Disease: Some seedlings will develop leaf spot disease, which will cause the leaves to dry up. In severe cases, the leaves will burn and fall off. You can spray 1000 times diluted thiophanate-methyl wettable powder and 600-800 times diluted flusilazole myclobutanil, and spray 3-4 times continuously for prevention and control.

2. Pests: During the growth of the maple tree, larvae of the spiny moth may appear, which will eat away the leaves. In severe cases, the leaves will be eaten away and the tree will be left bare. Insect anthelmintics such as DDT emulsifiable concentrate and phoxim emulsifiable concentrate can be used for spraying to eliminate pests and prevent them from harming crops.
