1. Difference in appearance

Flower mushrooms are actually a type of shiitake mushrooms. However, it is very different from other varieties of shiitake mushrooms. The top of its mushroom has large spots and lines. Other shiitake mushrooms generally do not have spots, or the spots are relatively small. Therefore, you can judge whether a shiitake mushroom is a flower mushroom by the size of the spot on the top of the mushroom.

2. Maintenance Difference

Regarding the breeding environment, the requirements of flower mushrooms are much higher than those of ordinary shiitake mushrooms. Normally it should be placed in an environment of 8-18℃, and maintain an air humidity of 60%-65% and a planting material humidity of 35%-45%. Otherwise it will be difficult for it to survive. Ordinary shiitake mushrooms do not have so many requirements for the environment. They can grow as long as they are in a warm and slightly humid environment.

3. Price Difference

There is also a big difference in price between flower mushrooms and ordinary shiitake mushrooms. Usually, fresh mushrooms can be sold for 5-8 yuan per catty, and dried mushrooms can be sold for 30-40 yuan per catty. The price of flower mushrooms is higher. Generally, fresh flower mushrooms can be sold for 12-20 yuan per pound, while dried flower mushrooms can be sold for 60-150 yuan per pound.
