When is the best time to plant rice?

The Jingzhe solar term is in the southern part of China, and the rice-growing areas are in the early rice fields, and the field preparation, sowing, raising seedlings, and transplanting are the busy seasons. In Hainan Province, Guangxi, and parts of Guangdong Province, it is the busy season for transplanting early rice.

Due to the relatively low temperature in the northern region, rice can only be planted once a year, that is, one harvest a year. The planting time is usually the Beginning of Spring, and the harvest can begin when the Cold Dew arrives.

Usually two seasons of rice can be planted in the southern region, and three seasons can be planted in a few places, that is, two or three seasons a year. The second season of rice is usually sown in the Waking of Insects and can be harvested in the Cold Dew. After the harvest, the next season of rice can be planted and harvested in the spring of the following year.

Key points for rice planting

Plant the seedlings in shallow water and keep the water moist for final determination.

After the seedlings are transplanted, spray 800 times diluted Jinkede silicon fertilizer in time to effectively prevent the evaporation of ground water and the transpiration of water in the seedlings, isolate pests and diseases, shorten the seedling acclimatization period, quickly adapt to the new environment, and grow healthily.

An inch of water becomes clear, a thin layer of water produces tillering.

After transplanting, the rice field should maintain a shallow water layer of 0.5 to 1 inch to promote tillering. Too deep a water layer will inhibit tillering and delay tillering time, and cause high-position tillering; too shallow a water layer will lead to excessive tillering, consume plant nutrients, and form a large number of ineffective tillers.

③ When the number of seedlings in the field reaches 80% of the expected number of ears, the field should be properly drained and dried to control ineffective tillering in the later stage.

When drying the fields, drain the water and let it dry for 3 to 5 days, then add new water and keep the water for 2 to 3 days, then drain the water again and repeat this cycle for 2 to 3 days.
