Bufuna planting technology and cultivation management

Bufona, also known as the black tiger , is known as the world's number one exotic fruit. Its flesh is like grapes and its taste is like lychee. It is milky white and delicate, with a rich, sweet and aromatic aroma. Below we will introduce to you the planting technology and cultivation management of Bufona.

1. Garden selection

Bufona can be grown in Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places in China. You should choose forest edge land or cultivated land with fertile soil, deep soil layer and good drainage, preferably humus soil and sandy loam. Generally, any soil that can grow peaches, plums, persimmons, apples and grapes can be planted, and slightly acidic sandy loam is the most suitable.

2. Planting of seedlings

Planting and transplanting are carried out from November to May every year, with about 200 plants planted per acre. About 200 holes are dug per mu, with specifications of 50~60 cm long, 50~60 cm wide and 40~50 cm deep. Each hole is filled with 1 kg of organic fertilizer , 5 kg of fermented human and animal manure and soil mixed compost, and placed in the dug planting hole. A layer of soil is then covered on top to preserve the fertilizer for one month. After the soil and fertilizer in the hole are slightly mature, it can be planted.

When transplanting, soak the Bufona seedlings in water for half an hour, then apply yellow mud, put them into the dug planting hole, vertically fill the soil, lift the seedlings up after filling the soil, and step on them with your feet to allow the soil to fully contact the roots. The part of the stem near the ground should be 3cm above the soil layer. Be sure to water it thoroughly when planting.

3. Build a scaffold

The plant of Buffona is a climbing vine, so when building a garden, a trellis should be erected in the garden to provide climbing support for the plant's branches. After the vertical poles in the whole garden are completed, pull the thick galvanized (rust-proof) steel wire (3.0mm) horizontally and vertically through the cement pole at the rear edge in the shape of a "井" (Chinese character for "well"). Then pull the thin rust-proof steel wire (2.0mm) every 1.3m. Then, pull the thin rust-proof steel wire (2.0mm) diagonally according to the vertical pole to form a "米" shape.

4. Build the frame and tie the vines

When the seedlings grow new shoots, they are framed and vines are tied to promote their growth and prevent them from being eaten by herbivores. Leave one main vine on the frame and tie it up. After putting it on the frame, leave three branch vines and cut the tops when they are 1.2m-1.5m tall, and so on.

5. Water and fertilizer management

During its growth process, Buffona has a relatively large demand for water and fertilizer. Because Buffona grows quickly, it consumes water and fertilizer quickly. Water and fertilize regularly, and ensure sufficient water and fertilizer during some important stages such as the fruit expansion period of the Bufona. If there is insufficient water, the fruit expansion will be hindered and deformed fruits are likely to occur. The application of water and fertilizer should follow the principle of small amounts and multiple times. In the early stage, nitrogen fertilizer should be used as the main fertilizer, and in the later stage, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be used as the main fertilizers. Be careful not to apply too much or too much of a single fertilizer, especially nitrogen fertilizer, which can easily cause the plant to grow vigorously and bloom without bearing fruit, affecting plant growth.

6. Pruning management

The branches of Bufona can be pruned in spring, summer and autumn. Spring pruning is usually done before the branches sprout. Prune off the dense fruit branches and dead branches. After pruning, the branches should be of moderate density and do not interfere with each other. Summer pruning usually takes place from early to mid-May to early to mid-August, mainly pruning off basal branches, core branches, overlapping branches, diseased and insect-infested branches, etc. Autumn pruning is done after the leaves fall. Mainly cut off the basal branches after summer pruning.
