Monstera repotting time and precautions

Monstera repotting time and precautions

1. Time to change pots

For Monstera, the time to repot is very critical. If the time is not right, the climatic conditions are not conducive to growth and repotting. Such a rash repotting will make it difficult for the plant to adapt, resulting in the plant being difficult to survive, the roots unable to penetrate into the soil, and subsequent growth will be affected. Repotting can be done in spring, when the climate is mild, the temperature begins to rise, and the plants grow vigorously. Repotting at this time will cause less damage to the plants and will be more conducive to their later recovery.

2. Precautions

1. Stop watering a few days before repotting. Do not water the flowerpot anymore. Keep the soil in the pot dry to facilitate the detachment of the roots, avoid damaging the root system, and ensure subsequent growth.

2. The replacement flowerpots and soil should be appropriate. The flowerpot should be slightly larger than the previous one, and the soil should be breathable, drainable, and nutritious. This can meet the needs of growth and provide a suitable environment for subsequent growth.

3. Do not water the plant immediately after repotting. The roots have not yet adapted to the environment and sudden watering will cause damage. Wait for a few hours before watering the plant. Do not water the plant too much at one time to avoid water accumulation in the pot.
