The difference between trumpet creeper and kapok

1. Different tree shapes

Trumpet creeper is a climbing shrub with a woody stem that turns a dry brown color when the epidermis falls off. It has a relatively short plant shape and is able to climb. It has aerial roots that can climb and grow along walls.

Kapok is a large deciduous tree, very tall, about 10-20 meters in height, and can reach a maximum of about 25 meters. The outer bark is grayish white, and young trees have thick conical thorns.

2. Different leaves

Trumpet creeper has pinnate compound leaves with 7-9 leaflets, which are ovate-lanceolate in shape, about 3-6 cm long, relatively small, and about 1.5-3 cm wide. It has a very obvious feature, which is the coarse serrations on the leaf edges.

Kapok flower has palmate compound leaves with 5-7 leaflets, which are oblong to oblong-lanceolate in shape, about 10-16 cm long and 3.5-5.5 cm wide. They are relatively wide and have entire leaves.

3. Different flowers

The flowers of Trumpet Creeper are relatively small, about 5 cm in diameter. The inside of the corolla is bright red, the outside is orange-yellow, and the flower color is relatively dark.

The flowers of kapok are relatively large, with a diameter of about 10 cm. The flowers are generally red and relatively bright.
