1. Different families

2. Different leaves

The leaves of thyme are oval in shape, about 3-9 cm long and 1.5-4 cm wide. The leaves are relatively shiny and the color is relatively dark green.

The leaves of Milan are obovate in shape, about 5-12 cm long, obviously larger, and the color of the leaves is lighter and brighter, emerald green.

3. Different flowers

The former has a larger flower, about 2 cm in length, with five petals, white in color, and a cymose inflorescence that is shaped more like a trumpet.

The latter has very small flowers, about 1.5-2 mm long, but there are many of them, many of them gathered together, the color is yellowish, like yellow rice grains, and the fragrance it emits is stronger.
