Breeding methods and precautions of black plum

Breeding methods and precautions of black plum

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It is a hybrid of Chinese plum and European plum. It has a particularly high adaptability to the living environment. It grows best when the temperature is around 20 degrees. Therefore, during the maintenance process, just control the temperature at 20 degrees.

2. Watering: In addition to normal watering, you should also water once after each fertilization. The purpose is to spread the fertilizer in the soil, which will help the plant absorb it.

3. Fertilization: During the growth period, it consumes a lot of nutrients and needs topdressing once a month. In addition, after harvesting the fruits, you need to start fertilizing the leaves. Avoid using urea for foliar fertilizer and use more practical compound liquid fertilizers, which will help the plant accumulate nutrients and overwinter.

4. Light: Its growth cannot be separated from sunlight, and it has a relatively large demand for light. It needs at least six hours of sunlight a day. If conditions permit, it is best to receive full-day sunlight.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: When propagating plants, seedlings are generally used because it takes less time and has a higher survival rate. The time for planting seedlings is generally chosen in March each year. If the climate is unstable in some places, you can also choose to plant them after autumn. Before planting, you need to dig planting holes with a row spacing of three meters. After planting, you also need to plant pollination trees reasonably in order to increase the success rate of pollination. Generally, they are planted in a ratio of 8:1. Under normal circumstances, 70 to 100 seedlings can be planted per acre.

2. Pruning: In the early stage of the plant's growth, three or four main trunks need to be retained. When the main trunks grow a little taller, about half a meter, the top buds need to be removed in order to promote the growth of side branches.

3. Problem Diagnosis

1. Falling and yellowing leaves: The problem of falling and yellowing leaves on plants is mostly caused by insufficient light, and the amount of light needs to be increased.

2. Root rot: If you water too much and water accumulates in the soil, the plant will experience root rot. Generally, when encountering this situation, you can control the water and wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. If the condition is serious, you need to dig out the plant, cut off the rotten part, and then disinfect the cut. After completing the above steps, you can replant it.

IV. Other issues

1. Edibility: It has high nutritional value and can be eaten directly.

2. Toxicity: It contains high levels of fruit acid. Excessive consumption can easily cause stomach pain. Unripe black plums are slightly toxic and cannot be eaten.
