How to make Rieger Begonia bloom on New Year's Day

1. Flowering period

Generally speaking, as long as we can take good care of it before winter comes, there will be basically no problem with its flowering in winter. Its flowering period should normally be from December of the current year to April of the following year. However, because our country has a vast territory and the climatic factors in different places are not the same, under this influence, its flowering period may not be stable. But we don’t need to worry too much. As long as we can take good care of it carefully, our wish of letting it bloom on New Year’s Day is completely possible to come true.

2. Flowering period control

1. Lighting control

If we want it to bloom well, light is absolutely an essential factor. Most plants like and need sunlight, and Begonia is no exception. Therefore, we can place it where it can be exposed to sunlight. This can speed up its growth, make its branches and leaves greener, the colors more vivid and attractive, and make it bloom faster. But the light should be moderate, not too much, and the temperature should not be too high, otherwise it may have the opposite effect.

2. Temperature control

Compared with other plants, the range of its growth temperature conditions is relatively large. It can grow between 10 degrees and 32 degrees. The only difference is the time required for growth and the speed of growth. During the day, its growth temperature should be around 21 degrees, and at night it is better to be between 13 degrees. If we want it to bloom on New Year's Day, we should prepare it in the fall. It is best to let it grow between 18 degrees and 20 degrees, because this will greatly speed up its growth.
