Sowing method

Sowing time

Campanula is a cool-loving plant. It is best to sow it in late summer. After growing slowly in winter, the entire growth process can be completed in spring. During this process, the lighting time must be guaranteed to be at least 14 hours a day. It will bloom in about 30 days and the viewing period will be longer.

Seedling care

After sowing, when the seedlings grow small roots, they can be transplanted. Just choose a shallow flowerpot. Be careful not to break the roots during planting. If the seedlings grow to about 5 cm, they can be transplanted into a pot of about 10 cm. After the roots fill the pot, repot them. Repeat this 2 to 3 times and you can harvest a pot full of bells.

Watering and fertilizing

The seedlings of bellflower need to maintain high humidity and water frequently. If necessary, cover the seedlings with a layer of vermiculite to keep them moist. However, when watering, do not water the seedlings frequently to prevent the water from breaking the stems of the seedlings.

If you want to promote its rapid growth, you can apply more calcium and nitrogen fertilizers appropriately, and then apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers on this basis.

Light and temperature maintenance

Campanula likes long days and can bloom naturally if there are more than 14 hours of sunlight a day. If you want early flowering, you only need to darken the plant for 4 hours a day for 30 days before flowering.

There is no need to control the shape of the plant. It is originally short, and the appearance of the campanula will be rather messy in the early stage. Do not trim it. Let it grow slowly, and it will naturally become neat and compact in the later stage.

Campanula needs to go through two winters before it can bloom, so cultivating it requires patience, especially in the hot weather in summer, which can easily cause the plant to wither.

Sun protection

Potted bellflowers should not be placed behind high-rise buildings to prevent them from being exposed to the sun, and the leaves should be sprayed with water and cooled in a timely manner. It is also a sun-loving plant, so it cannot be placed in the shade for a long time without light.
