Pomegranate planting conditions and temperature requirements for areas suitable for growing

Pomegranate Planting Conditions

Pomegranate likes a warm, sunny environment. Potted plants need to be placed in a sunny place. During the germination period, sufficient light and water are needed, but water accumulation should not occur. Pomegranates are easier to plant when they are young seedlings.

Pomegranate Growing Climate

Pomegranate likes a warm environment, and the suitable growth temperature is between 15-20 degrees. It has a certain ability to resist high temperatures and cold, so there is almost no need to worry about summer and winter. In summer, it is best to provide a well-ventilated environment, spray more water, and keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged. In winter, it can tolerate a low temperature environment of minus 18 degrees. If it is lower, you must pay attention to temperature control.

Pomegranate growing area

Pomegranate is generally distributed in areas with an altitude of 300-1000 meters. It likes a warm and sunny environment. It is drought-resistant, cold-resistant, and barren-resistant. It is not resistant to waterlogging and shade. It has a wide adaptability to soil, but it is best planted in loose, fertile, well-drained sandy soil.

Pomegranates are grown in both the north and south of China, and are widely distributed in Anhui, Jiangsu, Henan and other places. New varieties have also been cultivated. Huaiyuan County, Anhui Province is a famous Chinese pomegranate hometown, and "Huaiyuan Pomegranate" has become a local specialty. It was originally distributed in the Balkan Peninsula and is grown in tropical and temperate regions.

Pomegranate planting time

Pomegranates are usually planted in March in spring, sprout in early April, bud in mid-to-late April, and bloom in May. The peak flowering period is from May to June, and the flowering period basically ends from the end of June to early July. The fruits mature in September and October.

Benefits of Pomegranate Planting

After planting pomegranates, they need to be cared for for 3 years before they bear fruit. After 5 years, they enter the high-yield period. The yield per acre can reach 2,000 kilograms, with an output value of over 10,000 yuan, and have high economic value.
