Precautions for transplanting Kalanchoe

Precautions for transplanting Kalanchoe

1. Transplanting time

The best time to transplant Kalanchoe is in spring, when the climate is just right, neither too hot nor too cold, and everything is beginning to sprout. Transplanting at this time will have less impact on the plant and help it recover.

2. Suitable soil

The soil after transplanting should be suitable, ensuring good air permeability and drainage conditions, and not too sticky. The new soil can be prepared with garden soil, leaf mold, river sand, and base fertilizer. Because the flowering period is very long and the number of flowers is large, the base fertilizer must be ensured to be good, otherwise the plant will lack nutrients for growth.

3. Protect the root system

During the process of removing and transplanting, the root system must be protected and not damaged. Be gentle and do not forcefully break or pull the roots. If the root system is damaged, it will be difficult for the plant to survive even after transplanting. After transplanting, the roots should stretch out to facilitate the absorption of nutrients in the soil.

4. Post-maintenance

After transplanting, water the plants thoroughly, and then water them again after a week. The soil should not be half wet and half dry. Although it likes plenty of sunlight, it cannot be exposed to it at the beginning. You can wait until the plant grows steadily, and then slowly expose it to sunlight.
