How to deal with slag to grow flowers

How to deal with slag to grow flowers

1. Complete combustion

The slag itself is produced by the combustion of coal. However, the combustion is usually not complete, and there is still a certain amount of coal in it, which is not helpful for the growth of the plants. So you need to burn it again first to break up the large pieces.

2. Make a selection

Burning time that is too long will easily produce coke. Coke only contains carbon and no other nutrients, so it needs to be removed. The rest needs to be filtered through a sieve to separate the residues of different coarseness and fineness, each of which has its own usefulness.

3. Mixing Soil

Finer slag should be mixed with soil, and not too much fine slag should be added. Although it contains trace elements, it will also affect the drainage and air permeability of the soil. Generally, the proportion of soil is greater than two-thirds.

4. Pad the bottom of the pelvis

Coarser slag is less likely to be absorbed by the plants, so it is only placed at the bottom of the pot to increase the drainage and air permeability of the potting soil.
