How can succulent plants adapt to the pot quickly? What are the signs that they are not adapting to the pot?

1. How to adapt to the basin quickly

1. Root pruning and disinfection: If you want succulents to adapt to the pot quickly, you must first trim their roots. Root pruning can promote the growth of new roots. Some old and dead roots also have the risk of rotting, affecting the survival of the plant. Usually only one-third of the healthy roots need to be retained, and the rest should be cut off. After root pruning, disinfection must be done properly. Soak the bottom in a solution of carbendazim, take it out after 15-20 minutes, put it in a ventilated place to dry, and wait for the wound to dry.

2. Prepare moist soil: Wait until the wounds of the succulents are dry before you can pot them. The soil should not be too wet or too dry, and it is best to have a certain degree of moisture. Usually you can pinch it into a ball, but it will fall apart once you let go. If you can't control the amount of water, you can water the soil thoroughly 1-2 days before potting, and then put it in a cool place to let the water evaporate. When potting, press the soil to ensure that the soil and roots fit better and prevent the plant from falling over.

3. Subsequent maintenance: After the succulents are potted, do not water them. Place them in a cool and ventilated place and wait for them to acclimate. It usually takes about a week to adapt to the new environment. At this time, water it thoroughly, wait for new roots to grow, and then expose it to appropriate light. During this period, water should be added according to the dryness and wetness of the soil, and usually no watering is done unless the soil is dry. In addition, the temperature should be controlled between 15-28℃. If the temperature is too low, it will also affect the development of the roots.

2. The performance of not acclimatizing

If the succulent plants are not adapting to the pot, there are usually three signs. First of all, the leaves are relatively soft and inelastic. This is because a lot of water is consumed during the acclimatization period, and the leaves are dehydrated. Secondly, the plant is unstable. After acclimatizing, the roots will be better integrated with the soil, but it is easy to shake before acclimatizing. In addition, plants that have not acclimatized will not continue to grow.
