When growing snake plants in autumn, avoid these 4 pitfalls and you will immediately have 11 sprouts!

When growing snake plants in autumn, avoid these 4 pitfalls and you will immediately have 11 sprouts!

Taboo 1: The soil is too solid and the buds are suffocated

During the growth period of Sansevieria, it is easy for a lot of little buds to sprout. At this time, if your soil is too compacted and hard, it will be difficult for the little buds to squeeze out even if they break through the soil! Loosen the soil quickly before the buds die.

1. Manual loosening

This is easy to do. Take a small shovel and loosen the soil along the edge of the flower pot. Be careful not to dig too deep. Just loosen the surface 3-5 cm. Use a smaller tool to loosen the soil slowly near the roots of the flowers. Don't damage the roots.

2. Re-mix the soil

If your Sansevieria really needs to be repotted, you can change the soil: garden soil: leaf mold: sand particles = 2:1:1, this ratio is fine. After changing the soil and planting, water thoroughly to establish roots. Place in a cool place indoors for 3-5 days and it will adapt to the pot.

Taboo 2: Overindulgence in watering can kill it in a matter of minutes

Huahua found that flower lovers particularly like to water the plants, one pot in the morning and one pot in the evening. They also like to carry a small watering can and spray it. This is not a good idea. Even the strongest snake plant will be "suffocated" to death by the water.

1. Proper water control in autumn

In fact, Sansevieria is quite drought-resistant. You must insist on watering it only when the soil is dry. This not only meets its physiological needs, but also stimulates its growth and sprouts, making the Sansevieria grow stronger and stronger!

2. Use a bamboo stick as a detector

If you are not sure whether the soil in the pot is dry or when to water the flower, you can insert a chopstick along the edge of the pot, about 6-8 cm into the soil, pull it out occasionally to check, and if the chopstick is dry, you can water it.

Taboo 3: Feeding hungry pigs in a free-range manner, no wonder they grow slowly

Sansevieria grows fast in autumn and needs sufficient nutrients. For those flower lovers who have been complaining about their slow growth, it is time to give them some nutrition. If they don’t grow some fat, how can they cope with autumn and winter?

1. Use rice washing water and soybean water to water a pot, and the plant will flourish for a month.

If you grow flowers at home, don’t forget to always keep rice water and soybean water on hand. Put them in a plastic bottle in the corner of the balcony and you can use them safely in more than two weeks. When watering, add water in a ratio of 1:20. This can be used not only for Sansevieria, but also for all the flowers at home.

2. Bury a few soybeans to save trouble

For flower lovers who find watering and fertilizing a bit troublesome, you can directly use some soybeans, preferably cooked, and bury 1-2 soybeans in each of the four corners of the flowerpot. Remember to cover it with soil. This fat may last for several months~

Taboo 4: Often placed indoors, discoloration and leggy growth

Sansevieria has various patterns, and if it is not properly cared for, the patterns will disappear. Especially when there is insufficient light, the golden color will fade, and the originally wide leaves will become longer and thinner.

More sunlight in autumn will keep the leaves strong and overwinter without stress

The temperature is not high now, so you can place the snake plant in a well-lit place indoors, and keep it in light for more than 3 hours a day, and it will grow stronger and stronger! Flower lovers in the south, please note that you still need to shade when the sun is strong~
