Peony flower habits

Peony flower habits

1. Like warmth

Peonies prefer to grow in a warm environment, but are very afraid of heat, so the temperature during maintenance should not exceed 25℃, otherwise it will go dormant. It will bloom at a temperature of 17-20℃, so the temperature must be strictly controlled within the appropriate range.

2. Like sunshine

It loves sunlight very much and needs to be exposed to plenty of sunlight during its growth period. However, it cannot withstand exposure to the scorching sun and needs to be shaded during summer noons. It can also tolerate partial shade, and can be maintained in a semi-shaded environment, but it cannot be deprived of sunlight for a long time.

3. Cold resistance

Peony has a certain ability to withstand severe cold, but in order to prevent it from being frozen, it is best to do some warming work when it overwinters in the north to ensure that it can survive the winter smoothly. It can withstand temperatures as low as -30°C, but it is better to be careful just in case.

4. Drought resistance

It is very afraid of waterlogging. Too much water will hinder its root growth. It has a certain degree of drought resistance, so even if there is a slight shortage of water, you cannot water it too much. Normally, the cultivated soil should be in a slightly moist state, but not too dry.
