Characteristics of small-leaf red sandalwood

1. Morphological characteristics

Dalbergia parvifolia is a relatively tall tree with a straight trunk and deep red sap. Its bark is dark brown and has cracks. It has many branches with many leaves on them. Its leaves are generally oval and between 9-15cm in length. Its flowers are mostly yellow and quite beautiful. The fruit is nearly spherical and contains seeds inside.

2. Habits and Characteristics

It is a perennial tree with an extremely long lifespan and is slow growing. It blooms in winter from November to December every year. Its flowers are clustered on the branches, are yellow and very lovely. After the flowers fade, green fruits will appear. However, the fruit will not fully mature until April or May of the following year.

3. Breeding characteristics

It likes a warm environment. Therefore, when maintaining it, it needs to be placed in an environment between 20-30℃. It is also afraid of cold. In winter, do not let the temperature around it drop below 3℃. It likes sunlight, and can be given direct light when the light is not particularly strong. If the light is very strong, it needs to be slightly shaded to avoid sunburn.
