What diseases does Propineb treat?

Propineb is a zinc-rich, fast-acting, long-acting, broad-spectrum protective fungicide developed and produced by Bayer AG of Germany. Many people are not very clear about Propineb. So what diseases does Propineb treat specifically? Let’s learn more about it below.

What diseases does Propineb treat?

The diseases that propineb can control include downy mildew, early blight, late blight, anthracnose , leaf spot, etc., and it also has a certain control effect on fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and rust.

Propineb can be used for cruciferous vegetables: cabbage, broccoli , kale, etc.; Solanaceae crops: peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, etc.; Cucurbitaceae crops: cucumbers, pumpkins, watermelons, zucchini , etc.; as well as fruit trees, grapes, flowers, etc., and is suitable for almost all crops.

How to use Propineb

1. Early blight of tomatoes: The disease is prone to occur when tomatoes have just started to bear fruit. Use 125-190 grams of 70% propineb wettable powder or 130-160 grams of 80% wettable powder per acre and spray with water. Spray the medicine once every 5 to 7 days, and spray 2 to 3 times in a row to see the effect.

2. Downy mildew of Chinese cabbage: spray pesticides for prevention and control in mid-September and early October. Add 130-220 g of 70% propineb wettable powder to water and spray.

3. Apple leaf spot disease: When the disease occurs, spray with 600-700 times diluted 70% propineb wettable powder, once every 7 days, for 3-4 times in a row, and spray again in autumn.

4. Grape downy mildew: When the disease first occurs, it is necessary to spray 400-700 times diluted 70% propineb wettable powder, about 3 times, with an interval of about 7 days.

5. Anthracnose of citrus trees: In the early stage of the disease, use 70% propineb wettable powder diluted 600-800 times for spraying.

Precautions for use of Propineb

1. Propineb is a protective broad-spectrum fungicide, so it should be applied in the early stage of the disease. If the crop has already been diseased, it must be used in combination with other fungicides.

2. It cannot be mixed with pesticides containing copper preparations or their metal ions, and it should not be mixed with strong acid or strong alkali pesticides. If you have sprayed alkaline pesticides before, such as Bordeaux mixture, basic copper sulfate, etc., you need to wait for 7 days before spraying propineb again.

3. It is best not to use propineb alone for a long time, as resistance will occur. It is best to use them alternately.

4. Propineb is best stored in a dry and ventilated place, and its efficacy can last for more than 2 years.
