How to care for newly bought lucky bamboo

How to care for newly bought lucky bamboo

1. Pruning

After buying it from the flower shop, the first thing to do is to trim it. Generally, the leaves of lucky bamboo are relatively large. You can peel off some of the leaves at the bottom and leave some leaves on the top to reduce nutrient consumption and promote rooting. At the same time, the dead leaves on the lucky bamboo should be picked off in time, otherwise it will easily spread to the healthy leaves.

2. Lighting

Lucky bamboo does not have a very strong demand for light. After you buy it, do not keep the plant in a place with particularly strong light, because the plant has not yet adapted to the environment. If the light is too strong, the leaves will easily be sunburned. You can increase the light exposure time after it adapts to the environment.

3. Temperature

After you buy the lucky bamboo, you can control the temperature around it between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, which is the most suitable temperature for the growth of lucky bamboo. This will allow the lucky bamboo to better adapt to the environment and it will grow normally after a period of time.

4. Nutrient solution

When you just buy it, don't rush to add nutrient solution to the water, because the lucky bamboo has not yet adapted to the new environment. If you add nutrient solution, it will not only fail to promote growth, but will damage the root system. Once it has adapted to the environment, you can add nutrient solution.
