How to remedy yellowing of bamboo leaves

How to remedy yellowing of bamboo leaves

1. Pest control

If the leaves of bamboo turn yellow, it may be infected by insect pests, such as red spider mites, aphids, etc. The pests will absorb the juice and cause the leaves to turn yellow and dry. If it is determined that the plant is affected by insect pests, you can first remove the insects manually, clean the leaves with a brush in time, cut off and destroy the yellow branches and leaves, and spray insecticides such as imidacloprid water-soluble solvent and cypermethrin emulsion on the bamboo. In order to prevent bamboo from being infected by pests again, ventilation measures must be taken to avoid a hot and humid growing environment.

2. Reasonable fertilization

Bamboo needs nutrients for normal growth. If there is insufficient fertilizer and nutrient deficiency, it will also cause yellow leaves. Normally, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied, and thin fertilizer can be applied regularly during the growth stage to meet the growth needs and ensure that the leaves are green and shiny.

3. Sun protection and shading

Bamboo needs light to grow, but it cannot withstand strong sunlight. If exposed to the scorching sun, its leaves will turn yellow and dry. You can take sun protection measures for bamboo, block out a certain amount of strong light, cut off the yellow leaves, and encourage the bamboo to sprout again and grow new leaves.

4. Control moisture

Bamboo is not tolerant of waterlogging. If it is watered too much, the roots will not be able to absorb all the water, causing water accumulation at the roots and causing yellow leaves. You can control the water for bamboo in time, adhere to the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet, and loosen the soil in time to promote the discharge of moisture in the soil.
