How to grow geranium in winter

How to grow geranium in winter

1. Move indoors in time

The temperature in the north is lower in winter, and the plants cannot withstand frost damage. Move it indoors in time before the frost arrives. The temperature in the southern region is not that low, but after the beginning of winter, the plants should be moved to a sheltered, sunny place to get more exposure to sunlight, which will help increase the temperature of the plants and avoid being attacked by cold winds.

2. More exposure to light

Winter is here, the intensity of light outside has decreased, it is not very toxic, and you will not get burned even if you stay exposed to it for a long time. The surrounding temperature becomes lower, so in order to increase the temperature of the plant, you can move it to a sunny windowsill, get more exposure to sunlight, and promote plant growth.

3. Reduce the amount of watering

Don’t water too much at ordinary times, and you need to control it more in winter. Generally, water once every 5-7 days to ensure that the soil in the pot is relatively dry. However, you can switch to spraying water on the leaves, which can not only replenish moisture, but also clean the leaf surface and ensure that the leaves are green.

4. Maintain temperature

The indoor temperature should be kept at 15-20 degrees Celsius, and should not be lower than 10 degrees at night. If the temperature differs too much from this level, the growth of the plants will be weakened and affected.
