How to grow purple-leafed Oxalis

How to grow purple-leafed Oxalis

1. Adequate light

Although it can tolerate partial shade, places with sufficient light are suitable for its growth, especially when it is growing vigorously. Because the temperature is relatively high in summer, the plant will enter a dormant period, so it needs proper shading. It can be placed on a windowsill with good light, but the flower pot should be turned frequently so that the plant can grow more evenly and not tend to one side.

2. Proper moisture

It is very easy to grow. Water it once you see the soil is dry, and make sure it is watered thoroughly, but not too much water to prevent serious waterlogging. Just water once every 3-5 days, but be careful not to water at noon. When the surrounding environment is very dry, you can spray some water around to increase the humidity and make its leaves thicker and more shiny.

3. Appropriate fertilization

Apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer once every 20 days, so that the nutrients will be more balanced and comprehensive. The concentration applied each time should not be too high to prevent part of the root system from being burned. It can be gradually reduced or suspended from late autumn.

4. Suitable temperature

The temperature range of 24-30 degrees Celsius is suitable for its growth. When the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, the above-ground part will be damaged.
