Cutting method of double petunia

Cutting method of double petunia

1. Time

If grown indoors, it can be done all year round. However, the success rate will be higher if performed in spring and autumn than in hot summer or cold winter.

2. Matrix

You can mix the culture soil, leaf mold and sandy soil sold on the market, which will have good results. You can also add some perlite to it so that it will be more water permeable.

3. Container

The requirements are not too high, just not too big, usually fifteen to twenty calibers.

4. Branches

Don't choose branches that are too old or have diseases or insect pests. Choose new and healthy branches, about ten centimeters in length. Then wait for the cut to dry and cut off the upper two-thirds of the leaves. In addition, if there are flower buds or fruits, cut them off as well. In this way, evaporation can be effectively reduced.

5. Insert branches

Pour the substrate into the pot and poke holes in it with scissors, bamboo sticks, or chopsticks. Each one is about six centimeters apart and two or three centimeters deep. Then, insert the branch and flatten the soil around it.

6. Post-management

After completing the above steps, you need to water it enough and then cover it with a layer of plastic wrap. As for light, astigmatism is enough. The temperature is controlled between eighteen and twenty degrees. It will take about half a month or twenty days for roots to grow. If you observe that it does not rot or wither, it means it is alive. After thirty days, it can be transplanted. However, because it recovers slowly, you should bring more soil.
