Cultivation methods and precautions of rose begonia

Cultivation methods and precautions of rose begonia

1. Soil

When growing rose begonias, you should use soil with good water permeability and avoid using soil that is too thick. You can use peat soil, perlite, coconut coir, etc., and you should also loosen the soil appropriately to avoid soil compaction.

2. Lighting

It needs a little shade when it is first grown, and sufficient light needs to be provided after it has grown for a period of time. In winter, it can be placed directly on a closed balcony to ensure that the breeding environment has sufficient temperature. The sun is very strong in the summer, so the rose begonia should be placed in a cool place, otherwise the leaves will be burned.

3. Watering

It is very afraid of waterlogging, so it is important to control the amount of water. Normally, as long as the cultivation soil is not too dry, it will be fine. It is best to water according to the climate conditions. You can water more when the weather is hot, and control the water in winter. When the humidity in the breeding environment is low, it is also necessary to spray more water to maintain a high enough humidity.

4. Temperature

It should be given a growing environment of 18-22℃, and try not to be lower than 15℃ in winter. Pay attention to keeping warm and don't be too close to the heater. In summer, when the temperature is higher than 28℃, it is necessary to cool down the plant and keep it in a cool place. The temperature in spring and autumn is more suitable, so normal maintenance is sufficient.

5. Notes

During its growth period, attention should be paid to pruning, otherwise unnecessary branches, leaves and flower buds will increase nutrient loss and consumption. Repotting the plant once a year not only provides the roots with enough space to grow, but the nutrients in the new soil are also helpful for its growth. If the plant grows slowly, you can change the pot every other year.
