How to cultivate copper coin grass in water

How to cultivate copper coin grass in water

1. Suitable container

The container can be made of a variety of materials, but pay attention to its size. Don’t choose one that is too small, otherwise the pennywort will grow very fast and there won’t be enough space.

2. Change water regularly

Water quality has a great influence on its growth, so it is necessary to ensure good water quality at all times, so change the water regularly. In winter, it is about once a week, and in other seasons the intervals are shorter, about every three to four days. You can use tap water, but you need to let it sit for a day before use.

3. Adequate lighting

It likes light very much, so choose a place with good light to place it. Generally speaking, four to five hours of sunlight are required every day. If it is not enough, you can use fluorescent lamps to supplement it appropriately.

4. Suitable temperature

It likes warmth and the temperature is best maintained between 10-26℃. It is not suitable to be too high or too low, so it should be adjusted appropriately in winter and summer.

5. Pest control

For plants grown in water, there is a type of insect that can easily cause harm, called "water snails", which will eat roots and young shoots. Therefore, once such insects are found in the water, they must be dealt with in a timely manner by changing the water, cleaning the containers and disinfecting them. They must not be allowed to multiply and expand the harm.

6. Appropriate amount of nutrient solution

Sometimes you need to use some fertilizer, preferably a nutrient solution. You can use a few drops after each water change.
