Cultivation methods and precautions of white-veined peperomia

Cultivation methods and precautions of white-veined peperomia

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: White-veined peperomia likes loose and fertile soil. If the soil is too sticky and has poor drainage, it will easily affect the respiration and growth of the roots. Usually, the potting soil is prepared with leaf mold and coarse sand, or peat soil and perlite can be used. No matter which method is used, a small amount of horse manure should be added as base fertilizer to provide nutrients for the development of the plant.

2. Light: White-veined peperomia is suitable for growing in a semi-shady environment and requires a certain amount of scattered light, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise it will burn its leaves and affect the development of the plant. Usually it should be placed in a bright place indoors. It can be properly shaded in the summer and exposed to sunlight for a long time in the winter. This will also be very helpful in raising the ambient temperature.

3. Watering: White-veined peperomia tends to grow better in moist places, and it has a certain degree of drought resistance, so water it frequently, but not too much. Just keep the soil in the pot moist without any stagnant water. If you water too much, it will easily cause root rot. You need to drain the excess water, loosen the soil appropriately, and ensure ventilation.

4. Fertilization: White-veined peperomia needs a certain amount of fertilizer during the growing period, usually once every two to three weeks. Fertilizer is mostly dilute liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer. The nitrogen fertilizer content should not be too much, otherwise the veins on the leaves will fade and reduce its ornamental value. Stop applying fertilizer in time in winter. If the temperature is suitable, you can apply appropriate topdressing.

2. Precautions

When growing white-veined peperomia, you must pay attention to pruning, cut off the withered and yellow leaves, and also trim the horizontal branches to make it look more beautiful. In addition, you can also pinch the top of the tree appropriately to promote the formation of branches.
