What is the difference between witch hazel and hamamelis

1. Tree shape difference

Silver hazel is a deciduous tree, about 8m tall. Its trunk is twisted and relatively thick, with a diameter of about 40 cm.

Witch hazel is a deciduous shrub or small tree. Although some plants can grow up to 8 meters, some plants are shorter and do not grow to 8 meters.

2. Difference of blades

The leaves of witch hazel are papery with relatively blunt serrations on the edges. Both the front and back sides of the leaves and the petiole are covered with a thin layer of hairs.

The leaves of witch hazel are papery or thinly leathery, 8-15 cm long and 6-10 cm wide. Its leaf margins are wavy and have no serrations. Both the front and back of the leaves are covered with thin hairs, but the hairs on the top are sparser.
