1. Leaf DifferenceThe leaves of green bayberry are thin leathery, with petioles 2 to 10 mm long. The leaf blades are elliptical-obovate or short cuneate-obovate, 2 to 7 cm long and about 5 to 30 mm wide. The apex of the leaves is acute or obtuse, and the base is cuneate. The leaves of green plum are leathery, entire, oblong or oblong-lanceolate, 5 to 13 cm long and 2 to 5 cm wide. The tips of the leaves gradually become sharp, the base is rounded or cuneate, the petioles are 7 to 15 mm long and densely covered with gray short hairs. 2. Flower DifferencesThe male inflorescence of Bayberry is solitary in the leaf axil, tilted upward, and presents a single spike inflorescence. The green plum panicle inflorescence is terminal or axillary, 4 to 8 cm long, slender, with 5 calyx lobes, petals white, sometimes light yellow or light pink, oblong or linear-spoon-shaped, about 1 cm long and about 4 mm wide. |
