The difference between pink and green foxtail algae

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of the pink-green foxtail algae are arranged in whorls of 5-7 and pinnately. The leaflets are green-white and needle-shaped. The submerged leaves are filamentous and scarlet in color. The old leaves will wither in winter and turn red when they fall. The leaves of green foxtail algae are emerald green. The ones above water are feather-shaped and arranged in whorls of 4-6. The leaves underwater are filamentous and yellow-green in color.

2. Difference in appearance

The pink-green foxtail algae plant is about 10-20 cm tall, with a semi-climbing stem that can creep on wetlands. The upper part is a straight stem that creeps above the water surface, and the lower part is an underwater stem with many branches. The green foxtail algae is taller than the former, about 30 cm, and its rhizomes crawl underwater or in the mud.
