Cultivation methods and precautions of the lucky tree

Cultivation methods and precautions of the lucky tree

1. Potting soil

The requirements for potting soil for the lucky tree are not very strict. Most soils can be accepted as long as they are not too sticky and have a certain level of fertilizer. When caring for the plant, you can use leaf mold, garden soil and river sand, mix them in a ratio of 1:2:1 and plant them evenly.

2. Light

The lucky tree can tolerate both full sunlight and partial shade. For indoor maintenance, it is recommended that you place it in partial shade so that it can grow normally.

3. Water

The lucky tree prefers dryness to wetness. When watering, pay attention to keeping it a little drier, so that it will perform better.

4. Fertilizer

The lucky tree does not require high levels of fertilizer. It only needs to be given a thin layer of liquid fertilizer once every half a month during the growth period.

5. Temperature

The lucky tree can tolerate relatively low temperatures and can even endure short periods of zero degrees. However, the leaves will turn yellow and droop, but will not be frostbitten. The ideal wintering temperature should be between 5 and 10 degrees so that it can grow normally.

6. Notes

If ventilation is poor during maintenance, scale insects are likely to cause damage, mainly in the leaf axils and also in the gaps between branches. After it occurs, you can use a high-pressure sprayer or a brush to clean it. Generally, this scale insect will appear two or three times a year. As long as it is cleaned up, it will not occur seriously in the later stage.
