Ventilation of orchid gardens and shade housesThe venue should be as spacious and high as possible. The flower stand can be made of bricks or stones, or you can put empty flower pots upside down and place orchid pots on them so that the orchid pots are 20 to 40 cm from the ground. Especially in places with poor ventilation, orchid pots should be placed as high as possible. Bamboo curtains and bamboo fences can be used for shade sheds, which are inexpensive, good quality and well ventilated. Orchid indoor ventilationIn houses, enclosed plastic sheds or glass sheds, especially those heated with coal, windows should be opened or film removed every day when the indoor temperature exceeds 10°C. In winter, even in a room that is closed on all sides, you should use electric fans to ventilate the air in a targeted manner when the temperature is high at noon. The temperature in a greenhouse is generally higher at the top and lower at the bottom, so the air inlet should be at the bottom and the air outlet at the top. This will allow for faster ventilation and more thorough removal of harmful gases. Pay attention to ventilation and spray water at the same time, handle the relationship between ventilation, heat preservation and moisturizing well, and prevent direct cold wind. The density of orchid pots placed indoors should be sparse rather than dense, and they should be kept at sufficient distance. If the area is narrow, the flower beds can be built into a stepped shape. You should pay attention to rinse the surface of the orchid pot with water frequently, and spray the front and back of the orchid leaves to ensure that the stomata are unobstructed. Ventilation of orchid pots and soil(1) It is best to use a clay pot with a tall tube, high feet, thin walls and good air permeability. You can also choose an orchid pot with porous walls and bottom. (2) Planting materials or potting soil should be layered. If using potting soil, cover the hole at the bottom of the pot with 2 to 3 small bricks, spread with 3 cm thick lump charcoal, and then fill in a mixture of decomposed humus and river sand to 1/2 of the pot height. Add a 3 cm thick layer of burnt slag, and cover it with mixed soil to the edge of the pot to create an environment where gas can flow easily. (3) The number of plants planted in each pot should not be too many. If there are many plants and the leaves are dense, they should be repotted and transplanted in time. Weeds, diseased leaves and dead leaves in the orchid pots should be removed regularly to facilitate ventilation. |
