FlowersTerminalia truncatula has spike-like inflorescences, clustered in leaf axils. The male flowers are at the top, and the female and bisexual flowers are at the bottom. They are white or yellow-green in color, small in size, and lack petals. The flowering period is from March to June. 3. FruitThe Terminalia tamarindus drupe is oblong, yellowish-brown in color, about 5 cm long, and similar in appearance to an olive. 4. AppearanceThe bark of the Terminalia tamarind is gray-brown and relatively smooth at first, but will gradually develop longitudinal cracks as the tree ages, at which time the bark can easily peel off in thin flakes.
